I have just changed my 240volt heating element as my Dometic RMT 7655L was not working on mains, all ok on gas.

I have power (240) but fridge still not working on mains. Is there a techie that might know what else i can try....

Regards
Dave

Yes working on gas. How to check if I have 240 at the element do I need to use a magicians tool (multi meter) . When I plug into mains all lights show I am ok with 240 every thing else works ok on 240

Yes you need multimeter onto the wiring at the back of the fridge to see if you are getting voltage there.

If you don’t have a multimeter you can use a wet hand, but a meter is safer 😜😜

The dometic manual gives hints on fault finding and a schematic of the RMT 7655L wiring, have you checked the 500mA fuse?

I have checked blade fuses did not know it has another fuse type I have looked at the troubleshooting but all it says is replace the onboard fuse if that makes sense . I got my wife to test with a wet hand , yes definitely got power going to it 👍😀

Where is this fuse please? I don't know the exact number of my fridge, it's a three way Electrolux, probably 21 years old in a Fiat Ducato 1.9td. All the Vans fuses are good.

Do you mean that you're connected to 240v by EHU or do you mean that using a test meter you have found 240v at the fridge panel and/or at the element? (Ah, I've just spotted that it has already been asked  ).

Just one possibility is the the element (even if new) is duff. You can check it for continuity with a meter.

Yes I have power as the green illuminated switch lights up. Is there another fuse inline before the element?

albouy If your fridge is a RM 4400 / 4401 ? the 230v appears to go to the heating element via a thermostat which only controls 230v and that may be faulty, also the 230v switch is being shown as a twin pole item which may be allowing it to light up when switched on, but without power being allowed onward on its output side to the thermostat / heater element if faulty .(there is no fuse shown)

Hello GeoffnDee, thanks mate, that's a start. It looks like I have to put a multimeter across the 240 volt side of the element...looks a bit difficult to access but I will give it a go. Thanks again.

Thanks for all of your help. I finally sent the board to be repaired at a cost of £45 as a first setup rather than the £250 plus for a new board. Got it back within a few days all working fine so happy days,,, I had replaced the element first but this was not needed but you live and learn as they say...
