Crafter self build
Hi guys just about to start a camper build I want an all electric camper no gas, so want a 400w solar system, I have a chance to have a hyundai 400w domestic solar panel very cheap £110 brand new, I fancy using a 40amp renogy rover li mppt Control charger is the panel compatible

Check that the controller can handle the output voltage from the panel.

Edit: Max input is 100vdc, so should be OK.

Yes that will be fine, but 400w is not enough for al electric.

If you have a empty roof now at the beginning of the build, look for two panasonic 325-330w, or go 3x 250w panasonic. The 250’s are 800mm wide and you can have two and one to allow for a skylight in between.
If money very tight, look for trina perc or half cut jinko, lots of watts for the pound. Hyundai is not well known in the solar business.

Thanks guys looking at putting 600w in van now using a lot of renogy equipment

Still don't think you'll have enough, I've got 1kw of solar feeding 1800ah of batteries and if I've had 4 cloudy days in a row, it's time to fire up the back up generator!

It won’t be, for a 21kwh battery bank you will want at least 2,2kwp panels to meet a modest C/10 charge rate.
