Where is the best base for the dolomiti superski? Corvara, Colfosco or sella Val gardena. I would want to do the sella rond as well as the pistes around corvara and sella Val gardena.

"Superski" is a well known area in the Dolomites, bit like Portes du Soleil (FR)

PS the only thing i've heard people talk about when they come back from there is the Grappa expressos;)

If only I knew what you were asking.
At a guess, is it skiing on the Dolomites ? :giggle:
I expect you can tell I don't ski.
I thought it was the launch of a new flavour of yoghurt, but I don't ski either; so Brunhilde's 'Ski Cupboard' has become our Broom Cupboard, and the drainage plug is jolly useful for getting rid of damp or spillages ... ;)

'Have you got the grappas?'
'Naw, just the way I walk after the skiing ...'

We base ourselves in Arabba which is quiet at night
Easy access to the various areas from there
If you are into partying Selva is the biggest town
The the Sella Ronda is easy to access whichever town you stay in though there is often a bit of a bottleneck in Selva
There are some really nice skiing off the main circuit most of which is ski linked
Alleghe is a great quiet area but you need to get a bus there and back
There are winter campsite but we haven't stayed on them
I like a hotel when skiing :cold:

I'm not bothered about night life. More interested in easy access to the skiing around corvara and sella Val gardena.

Personally of the two I would go for Corvara
Easy access to Alta Badia (probably my favorite area) which has got lots of reds and blues and a world Cup black if that's your thing
There is a camp site close to the lifts if you need one

Buying in the future
Arabba seems a fave location for friends who go often. Alleghe if you want a bit more off the beaten track but with the possibility of connections. Suspect Corvara is also good.

It's our favourite ski area I think wherever you go it's going to be great. We're booked Jan in Austria a group of about 14. We booked at the start of this year for Jan22. It's a fairly posh hotel and was double our usual budget at£1000 half board. Theres now no availability until Feb and it's £2600!!
I think the aires and campsites are going to be busy.

Wow. Sounds great. I will definitely book a campsite in advance. Given we couldn't ski last year...I think the slopes might be mobbed this winter
