went up to Finistra on the scoot this morning.. Thing started to hunt a bit, then just as I pulled off the main drag it died.
Suspect it is a blocked fuel filter of the vacuum tap has gone phut...
Either way, taxi back to the site and a hunt for tow vehicle and trailer began.
Fritz, a neighbor who hails from the Netherlands offered to be tow man, and the Richard ( @Scotties ) happened to call in and kindly offered the loan of his trailer..
Just got to tie it all together now and go collect the wee beasty...

And it's back at the van.
Checked the fuel filter, OK. Checked the vacuum tap, OK
Pulled the plug, nice colour, dry and sparking.
Took carb off, drained fuel out and refitted.
Bloody thing fired up !
I now suspect water in the fuel from a dodgy pump at the local garage, but only time will tell.

Dunno, but think about it, back in the day thousands of people bought cars fitted with a converted free standing water pump ! ( Hillman Imp )
Was it the Coventry Climax fire brigade pump? (y)(y)

Reminds me of the old (but good ) fact about Harley's...

They say that 75% of all Harley's ever made are still on the road...

The other 25% made it home again!

Checked it this morning.. Again, no fault found.
Starting to think CDI or coil now...
Why is it i get all the best faults ?
Why is it every problem I get is intermittent and not nice and straight forward !!

They already know their bikes are shit (y)

Sonny Barger in his autobiography:
In terms of pure work-manship, personally I don't like Harleys. I ride them because I'm in the club, and that's the image, but if I could I would seriously consider riding a Honda ST1100 or a BMW. We really missed the boat not switching over to the Japanese models when they began building bigger bikes. I'll usually say "F*** Harley-Davidson.

These days he rides a Victory Vision.

I saw a 1932 Ford model Y with a Coventry Climax Fire Pump Motor installed , the thing was frightening! It would go like hell , but stopping the damn thing was the problem with those wire cable brakes.

@Camping Gaza

Have you heard much about the new Harley M 8 engine, at the moment only available in 2017 touring models?

Here's a picture of the crankcase from one. Not sure what it was trying to keep up with, a mobility scooter perhaps?

My CG did that to me in Cornwall, it was gum from old fuel that blocked the jets. You can with a lot of carbs open the screw in the bottom of the carb float bowl and drain the water or muck out and flush it through.
My little bike cannot be a ditch pump more a strimmer.
I think it might be the circuit board where your manservant power washed it and it got soaked. Does it have a Sargent fitted to it. And WTF is Finistra?
