Slightly off Topic, but it seems that a dog is the number 1 motorhomers must have it's rare that you see a motorhome without one, however whenever a motorhome is advertised for sale it always states No Pets No Smokers , strange I thought, just saying.

Yes but only in the UK. When abroad she stays with her sibling at my daughter's or all the family move into our house.

Our dog "Poppy" goes everywhere with us including France/Spain in the winter and Greece (Corfu) in the spring. She is the reason we got the motorhome.

Just before Christmas we lost one of our beloved Jack Russels "our Sally" very sad, our other JRT (Meg) is just two year old, and full of beans, she brings brightness to the cloudiest of days, and of course comes with us everywhere in our motohome,
they are a member of the family.

That’s you covered , what about the dog?:)
Your Collies are beautiful, you don't need a blanket either.
Just a point also from a police friend if you are travelling anywhere around London motorways they have overhead cameras i am sure you have all seen them so if you get caught with your dog up front its a automatic £100 fine through the door when you get home cheers Rod
Really, is that even if they are restrained!

Our two Rotties would go into kennels for the few days we were away in the van - we just didn't have the space in our first two coachbuilts.

They subsequently died and then we adopted a new Rotti boy; this time we were adament that he wasn't going into a prison while we were enjoying ourselves so he comes everywhere with us now. This is one of the main reasons why we bought a PVC with a huge open floor space to accommodate his size.

He sometimes pops his head forward to see if the neighbours have a dog that they don't want anymore - yum yum!!

Got my first campervan conversion done in 2017 so I could take my elderly collie on holiday with me. Sadly lost her last month but we created some lovely memories together touring Scotland and the West Country.
You do get to talk to people if you travel with a dog and they get you out and about.

Getting There!
The last of our four "Rescue Dogs" sadly passed away recently, so for the first time in 50 odd years, I am dogless.......

We're currently looking at how things pan out with the "B" situation, as we will be travelling a lot next year, particularly abroad....Hopefully we'll re-home some waif and stray before we go!

No, 1 or more is great. Thanks
You need to keep your dogs to yourselves and not expect everyone to love them jump up at you . Oh he won’t hurt you !

I travelled for 5 weeks with a Malamute and a German Shepherd. It was great to have my furry friends. I was widowed last year so I will have to travel with 3 dogs now. That will be interesting as I also have MS and trying to travel before it robs me of more mobility.

I bought my first campervan in 1983 to accomodate my first Old English Sheepdog.I acquired 3 more OES and 2 more VW campervans. Next a trailertent and a huge ridge tent to give them plenty of room. Then 2 caravans as the OES passed on and we had 2 Hungarian Pulis. Eventually my first coachbuilt motorhome for 2 Shelties and the Pulis. Now my second motorhome for One Sheltie and 2 Toy Poodles. It's a way of life which I love.

Okaaay........not quite sure what Alsegal’s point is about ‘You need to keep your dogs to yourselves.......’
I agree that they should not jump up as this does upset people, but keeping them away from all is a little bit extreme, or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

My 3 are on leads outside of our garden and I would never let them jump up at anyone. They are only offlead if there is a designated exercise area.
