Hi
We have now used eurotunnel twice to travel down to Almeria/spain with our 2 dogs .We have found the actual crossing excellant but the travelling both ways thru France has been a drag in winter.
We have heard rumours that you can leave your dogs in the motorhome and visit and exercise them during the crossing,, is this so or do they stay in kennels without visits
One of our dogs is 21 years old and we try to keep her stress free
thanks

Hi

From the web site

Animals will only be permitted to travel in the owner/escort’s vehicle (N.B. See below for exceptions). There should be sufficient space for the animal to move freely, and you should make the animal as comfortable as possible, using absorbent bedding, equipment and toys which the animal is familiar with. The garages may be warm when parking but once the ship is at sea, the temperatures are carefully regulated and the garages inspected at regular intervals. Before leaving your vehicle you must ensure that the animal(s) will have enough ventilation. This will normally mean that one or more windows will need to be left partly open, but it is important also to ensure that the animal(s) cannot escape. Please make sure that all doors are locked. You should also take with you any valuables that you may be carrying, as the Company cannot accept responsibility in the event of loss, theft or damage caused by pets or otherwise.

Jim I suspect there has been some translation errors in the copied section you have posted and it should read may NOT be carried in owners vehicles unless------????.

My experience of the Sandtander crossing and a good look round the on board kennels would back that up
the kennels are excellent and owners can visit and walk their dogs and cats at will any time, the very top deck is reserved for just this purpose
Most took doggies favourite blankets and toys to place in the kennels, provision is made for larger animals in the form of double kennels, whereby some who had two dogs put them together
Its a great way to travel to Spain and a great ship too:thumb:
I will as always stand corrected, but with an argument of course:ROFLMAO:
Ps from memory access to the vehicles was restricted by locked doors as usual

Hi Geo
No translation errors but I think you need to read the whole page to understand the context ..
