Dogs on Ferries

Hi guys, has anyone had experience of taking a dog on the North Sea Ferry, from Hull to Holland or Belgium.

It did have a poor reputation as the kennels were on the car deck, did have it booked once but was told by P & O that they could not guarantee access to the kennels during the crossing so I cancelled it. It was a few years ago so things may have changed.
