Well travelled
We have a medium (ish), Hymer B544, and until recently travelled with George our English Pointer, now sadly gone over the Rainbow Bridge.

We are going for another EP, or possibly two, madness I know But wondering how other people manage in a relatively medium sized van with two large dogs ?

We have two working cockers in a not very big Boxer conversion, we cope fine . Even better in the better months always outside, get them tired , jobs a good un 👌

Met a couple in Argostoli (Kefalonia) who had sailed there on their 36ft boat with two full grown EPs on board, having driven from the UK to Northern Italy in their motorhome to pick the boat up. They didn't seem to have a space problem . . . . . .

Chihuahua I know but we put her bed in the foot well of either front seat. She has a harness on the seatbelted bench seat during travel. Being so small she can't jump up on anything.

We had one small (Border Terrier) and one medium (Schnoodle) in a 5.4m van - dinette seat belonged to the Schnoodle for sleeping at night, travelling and parked up snoozing, Terrier under the dinette table for all the above with occasional daytime sitting on dinette seat but not for long as she's a barker!

Once you've worked out where they'll be you can have the space left, its easier for humans to move around dogs than expect dogs to be forever getting out of the way.

I think you've got the questions wrong ... it's not how you managed with 2 large dogs, that's the easy bit, it's how you managed with 2 young rambunctious dogs tearing around your MH! :giggle:

We've a 14 week old labrador. Not been yet, our old labrador was fine. Not sure how the puppy will be!

They can curl up in the smallest of places.

Ours is 30kg of Belgian/German Shepard and loves curling up here.

We did it with our 9 and 13 year old pooches and our 14 week old puppy going round SW Scotland ... it was brilliant.

You’ll know they’re there, but I expect you will at home😀
The only trouble we’ve ever had is when we lost one of ours after a fuel stop in our RV. After a mad dash back, we discovered him asleep on the floor behind the settee!!!

We had a Hymer B544 and two labradors so similar. It was a bit of a squash when they came into the washroom with me at night, and also they liked to sit by the cooker when I was making anything so it got a bit crowded in the end of the van at food prep times, but generally no problem at all, -lots of room for both to stretch out and I'm sure you are used to stepping over sleeping dogs-go for it-2 puppies=twice the fun!!

We have a rear lounge and one x 40kg and 1 x 30kg standard poodles. They travel on the seats in harnesses secured by cable through under the seats to anchors in the garage.
By night the smaller one sleeps with at the bottom of the bed or under it and the big one has his bed up front where he will stay until one of us opens their eyes and then he cuddles up at the bottom of the bed. As it's is 6.6ft wide it's no problem 😆

Ours can jump up to the seats and bench no problem. Jumps up on the top of the side settee to watch where we are going when she is being left in the van.
Not bad for 11 years old.

Our 4 month old GSD at 22kgs causes chaos galloping about the house. Up to now he has been fine in the Motorhome. He curls up in the shower at night. We are going to take the door off one of the rear under bed half size wardrobes and make that into his den. He will still travel on the floor attached to the dinette seat belt.

After many years of being woken by the dogs in the early hours to come on the beds to avoid this we just have them on the beds with us now when we retire, they soon snuggle down and we get a better night that way. It also ensures that if one wants to go out we are 'informed', either by a lick, their moving around or by Tazzy sitting on me and prodding me with her paws! :giggle: The bonus is I don't need a hot water bottle anymore in the colder months!

A bit like this then Minxy - four dogs and Jac…..but no room for me, so I’m in the fixed bed at the back of the ’van.……..(y);)
