Just a word of warning to dog owners.

We spent a worrying weekend with our Epileptic Toy Poodle, James having emergency surgery after eating cardboard! He is 12 years old and has never done anything like this before. He had impacted cardboard in both his stomach and duodenum so has incisions in both!
He is recovering well so far, so hopefully it stays that way.

Fortunately his daughter didn’t join him in this unsavoury meal.

Just thought it was a timely warning, and could stop any one else being in our position.

Glad to hear the dog's ok.

Another thing is, I cant believe the amount of people that I see throwing sticks for their dogs to chase and chew.

Its so easy for a jagged end on a stick to catch in the roof of a dogs mouth making a serious mess of the dogs pallet. In addition, the bits that a dog swallows can turn to pulp in their stomach and cause all sorts of problems.

I used to throw stick for my dog but one day she was faster than the stick and caught up with it she went to bite it and went right through her cheek..............................never throw sticks now

Be careful with the tissues James only ate the top off a coke multi-pack.

All OK so far but have to be patient.
