For anyone taking their dog over to France, we've had this information from a friend who lives over there:


"Have just been reading today's email from Cahors rescue. It would appear that France is Europe's headquarters for dog trafficking. Theft of dogs is very high, used for dog fighting, experiments etc etc. Departments towards the South West bordering Spain are the worst. There is a map with the article showing areas where a high level of vigilance is needed. It is the third highest crime after people trafficking and drugs apparently.

Probably not a concern but thought people coming on holiday with their dogs should be aware"

very scary stuff but cant find [HI][/HI]Cahors rescue[HI][/HI] on tinternet as I would like to have read there article I am sure the they would have a alert on there web site ?

but from watt I see the risk is not grater the uk for dog theft
