Dog microchip papers?

Hi everyone can anybody tell me if you need some microchip papers or is the details on the pet passport proof enough of microchipping when travelling from Dublin to Cherbourg? Appreciate your help with this.

In my very limited experience of using an EU pet passport, and admittedly not from Dublin, the chip itself is scanned at pet check in and the number on the passport checked to see if it matches the number detected by the scanner. So no paperwork required apart from the passport.

Offagain is right. We did it at the Tunnel for the first time last week.You hand over the pet passport and then they scan the dogs neck just like a supermarket scans a bar code. All very quick and simple.
