If I wanted to learn a trade I think dog grooming would be it.
We are currently away and I popped into a dog groomers which I've used once before, to see if I could book Laika the wonder dog in for a wash and cut.
They are fully booked until June 17th , what a great business to have.
I have for the past couple of years cut her myself as I was not happy in paying £55 in London .

We had to wait two weeks to get our "scruff" sorted at his usual. A new grooming salon has opened in our local Dobbies so we called in and asked - same there. Same prices too.

Cannot be that hard.... use me Beard trimmer .... and have a go myself...

Set`s it on number 6 ... thinking that will give her a nice trim and not to short...

It was Number "Nought".... bleedin big 0... :crying:

Think that's bad try getting a booking @eddievanbitz
Now trying to find a quality installer in Newcastle for mid May - any recommendations?

We have our's groomed by various people over the years.

We have recently got a couple who visit our dogs palace in a fully equiped van plug in to our electrics and away they go...

Tara is done for £85 and Betty for £80 as she's a little smaller. Last groom for the bear led her to be clipped as she is old and struggling.

Another plus for border collies they only need a brush and an occasional swim. Their hair falls out naturally.

My local groomer cannot take on any more clients.

It takes me 11 hours to handstrip my Welsh Terrier, Jonesy. The process is usually spread over a week, bit of a work up but grooming your own dog is well within most peoples capabilities. I used to use an electric clipper on my previous 3 Cockers.

I sit in the garden, with Tilly and slowly hand strip, he has been known to fall asleep... Borders are so easy to look after...

Just sold my caravan for several thousand pounds to a lovely couple, thought we had agreed bank transfer but he turned up with a wad of cash. He explained that his lovely lady still worked from home dog grooming and likes to do about three a day, most pay in cash. This obviously builds into a tidy sum.
So go for It and you too could have a stash of the folding.
