Just had a startling thought; the van is in storage about 10 miles from home. It is hooked up to the mains with a timer that gives the van power for three hours a day. Batterymaster fitted.
I was told by a fellow homer, who shares the storage, that I should turn off the master switch as a precaution to prevent, for example, the water pump turning on if it's faulty. So I have turned the master switch off. But now am wondering whether by doing so, the battery charger may also be turned off. In which case, I'll have flat batteries in a few days.
Is my understanding, that I may have turned off the battery charger, correct?

Put a meter across the batteries and check their voltage with the master switch on and again when off.

Mine is an old 1999 MH and next to the master 240v switch/trip switch are three other resettable trip switches. One of them is for the charger so I could use a separate charger in a 240v socket if I needed to and turn off the onboard charger. Maybe you have something similar?

I have a 2017 Autograph with a Seatle panel. I had exactly the same thought so checked with the dealer. When I leave the van I also shut down the Seatle system which deactivates the water pump / lights . The dealer confirmed that the vehicle and leisure batteries will still be charged if on EHU.

On my Autotrail the master switch switches everything off and the solar then goes only to the hab batteries. Your van may have a different setup.

Further research suggests that the master switch on the Bailey turns off only the 12v system. Turning it off will not affect the charger. So phew! Now what else can shock me awake? :giggle:
