There is an on/off toggle switch at the back of the main charger/fuse box in my Elddis 195. I haven't seen it before. It is "off". I haven't tried switching it on. I noticed it when fitting a Vanbitz battery manager.

Does anyone know what it is for? Not mentioned in the handbook.

Are the blue bits switches or solid? If switches do they disconnect certain areas of 12v power in the van?

sorry ... couldn't resist the above ...

To be serious, it could be a switch to an in-built inverter or some other piece of kit - are there any wires coming from the box that you can follow to other non-standard equipment to try to work out what it is?

Thanks! It is not an add on. It's part of the spec (I think!). It's all closed in and pretty inaccessible. The fuses and trip switches are on the front of the unit.

What kit have you got in your MH 'as standard', telling us might help to narrow down what it could be.

It's a celebrity mortality regulator - if it's off that would explain a great deal.

Yes the fuses and trips are on the front of the unit. You can see the rocker switch at the back on top of the box. Handbook very poor.

In our Swift we have 2 units, one is the mains control unit with circuit breakers and the other unit is the charger. I have a similar looking switch on the charger unit to turn the charger on and off, it could be that your switch has the same function.

Thanks will check that out. Except that it's 'off' and the ecu works fine charges the leisure batts.
May contact Elddis, though not optimistic about response, people here don't reckon customer service.

Hi. Have the answer. Paul and Kate well done! Winter pack tank heaters used to be on all the time, but drained batts. Apparently this was a recall fitting to solve that but not documented. That's why it is 'off'. Shouldn't use with empty tanks, and only sparingly for cold winter use. I rang Marquis, very helpful!

Recall fitting cost £££££££££££ and a sticky label would cost what 50p ?

To be fair ( which is unusual for me when it comes to manufacturers :) ) It MAY have had a sticker that has fallen off ?

What ? Are you going soft in your old age ? I reckon it's that dog.
It has been remarked upon that I do indeed seem to be going off a bit !
It is an age thing I 'spose...

The tank heaters don't actually work when the tanks are empty as they work on a float switch but if you had water or grey waste and then left the mh off ehu even with the master switch set to off the heaters would kick in if temps were around 4c draining the battery fairly quickly

Could help if you were to expand the picture a bit so we can get an idea of size...
