All the gear, and no idea!
Can anyone tell me the time you leave port (assuming the ferry docks at 17.15) after clearing customs and such like, also any good aires within an hour of the port (heading south east in the Aachen direction then on towards Baden Baden for the B500) I’m told the very near ones fill up very quickly, so the plan is to run an hour or so out.

would have thought youd be on your way as quickly as they can open the doors and drop the ramp......

doubt there will be customs to clear.

Thanks Phil, I should have said passport control instead of customs, can be a while sometimes in zeebrugge! It’s not like the eurotunnel, where you drive straight out.

Each time we have done the night crossing.
Passport control opens at 18.30ish. The boat sets sail around 21.30.

As Phil D said we were off the ferry and straight out, no delays at all. Can't help with stopovers as we were heading north.

Did the entire length of the B500 on a motorbike. Fantastic road, bit jealous.
Having said that, I did not have my glasses on at first, and thought the post was for Dogging at the Hook of Holland.:mask:

We did it on the harley a few years ago, we’re just using the road to get us south for a week or so in the Swiss/Austrian alps(y)

If the ship is busy and they are using the mezzanine for cars then get to Harwich early to try and get in front of the mezzanine and so out first. Early arrival doesn’t always ensure this though. Need to be under 2.7m to be parked under. Passport control is variable sometimes straight through but increasingly a queue of about 10 minutes from the boat to exit. I usually push on to great stelleplatz at Wachtendonk just over the border in Germany but not quite on your route. Have a good trip.

Brilliant. We used it for the same reason via big Pan European meet at Meiringen.
Hope the Harley had a reverse gear for some of those bends.

There are 2 aires at masslouis, about 20 minutes from the hook, no facilities, right on the river, the first one is better, but probably a max of 7m, the other one is next to the river ferry so can be noisy. Nice little town just behind.

We've never spent more than 10mins getting from the boat to the road system.

My TomTom always takes me through the town: in the car I used to bypass it.
The fuel in town is quite expensive.

We don't like the aire at Maassluis and there have never been any places anyway.

Zooming round the Rotterdam Ring Road (8-10 lanes in places, TomTom directed us down the slightly quieter road approx 20-50yards south of the main A15 - I would recommend this) is quick and easy.

Last September we tried to get into Dordrecht but roadworks and a lack of diversion signs put paid to that.

We ended up at Breda: a lovely quiet spot next to a canal which cost €4 overnight.
Approx 70miles, mainly on motorways.
