Doc on tour, France, Spain, Morroco.

As are ours but sometimes you need some time away from them to chill and not having to constantly keep watching what they're up to. If you can try to get a break from them for say an hour every day, take a chair and go sit a distance away and read etc to take your mind off things, I'm not talking about researching the issues with your MH but totally unrelated to stuff. Watch a favourite comedy series, some funny YouTube stuff, or about other things that interest you. I like to do my puzzle books as I have to concentrate so can't think of other things that are going on, it really helps.
I do that.

I'm not with them 24 hours a day lol

If money is tight Tam, you might be able to get away with a seal kit. I had to do one on the bond bug this year because new master cylinders are no longer available, it was cheap as chips and fairly easy to do. The Morrocans have motor spares places, you have a photo with the part number and its the kind of thing the Morrocans do all day long, they tend to be repairers not replacers.

I wouldn't worry too much about the language. You have google translate in your pocket and We re encountering more english because its seen as the world language. They'll soon find a kid that can speak english.

Btw how many pipes come out of your master cylinder?

God, remember that? I forget how many slave cylinder seals I replaced 40+ years ago.

(Does also remind me how much of a throwaway society we are. And how much more reliable cars have become.)

I'll hopefully find a cash exchange place in Agadir. I've plenty of euros with me just not dirhams and because I use my Halifax clarity normally if I withdraw cash on it I get charges which I'm trying to avoid.

Once I change more euros I'll be fine.

I made a point of bringing plenty euros with me but got talked out of exchanging cash at port lol and I've not found another cash exchange since assilah.

Stop giving yourself more things to worry about and just go to the cash machine beside every Poste Maroc office, withdraw 2000 dirhams using your Halifax Clarity card. That’s exactly what we do, then we pay the balance using our online banking.
We’ve withdrawn 4000 dirhams so far on this trip and it’s cost us £157.81 and £161.07, total £318.88. I forgot to pay the card straight away and have been charged a grand total of 48p interest for the last 11 days.

Stop fannying about and just go to the cash point!

The only probem is Jon, that the barrel could potentially be pitted or scored and he won't find out until it's dismantled, in which case he'll be back to square one still looking for a new cylinder.
I'd be inclined to put a new cylinder on and rebuild the old one as a spare.

Agreed if it was mine I would be going for a new cylinder but my budget is different.

Unserviceable damage is of course possible but it would be very unlucky, if I remember correctly this hasnt done many miles and ended up stored for a long time, so hard or perished seals are probably more likely. I didn't fancy scrolling back through all the dog pics to find the number but it looks like it could be dual circuit which maybe where the pressure is being lost, but then some of the other theories could also be true.

I use my card for everything so if I withdrew 200 quid today. In order to pay it straight away I'd have to clear my balance of nearly 2 grand , I have my card set up so it pays each month's balance in full . I don't want to use my card for withdrawals. That's why I brought a couple of grand in euros.

If you hadn't talked me out of exchanging currency at the port I'd have dirhams ya pest

That’s exactly what I do Paul. Withdraw cash on the Clarity Card then transfer the equivalent amount +£1 as soon as I have internet. Paid 73p interest in 10yrs.

I use another no fee card for everything else.

You owe the money (£2k balance) and are going to have to pay it anyway so what difference does it make if you pay it straight away? Unless you’re getting a better interest rate on your savings than the credit card charge you?
The reason I told you to not bother buying dirham at the port is because I found we could get a better rate at the cash point.
You’re worrying over pennies here and imo you are stressing for no reason.

I use the clarity card as my main card so paying it straight away doesn't work unless I pay the full balance

Is the rate bad at the port? Never found much difference, usually get a bit to get us through the first tolls, campsite etc although withdraw most of it on revolut these days.

I haven’t commented much but the above Tam is what I would do.
The old bus sat for years so fluid was knackered but it would have put moisture into the system, those two clowns that did/didnt do the fluid change didn’t fill me with confidence.
Find a decent price master cylinder and new fluid that fits your budget and either do it when it’s in getting painted or get them to do it and keep old one if there’s no pitting. Seal kit won’t work if it’s pitted no matter how much you polish it, the tolerance will be to much.

And you can just pre load the revolut card with your required amount

It’s not bad, just slightly better at the cashpoint ime.
The difference is pennies really at the end of the day though.

I don't know to be honest , last time I came over with CaptainPaul and I bought insurance and exchanged pounds for dirhams at port. That cash did me most of the time in maroc and I used my card for diesel and when I used supermarkets... I can't remember exchanging or withdrawing any more.

It's no drama. It's just because I seem to have trouble finding fuel stations that take cards this time for some reason and I could do with more dirhams. I'd prefer to exchange some euros that I'm already carrying than withdraw from machine and have to constantly clear my balance

I have revolut but don't have a physical card for it as I only ever used it for the stray dogs thing.

When I'm back in UK this year I'll have to look in to other methods of doing some stuff . But I'm just used to doing what I've done for years .

I use my clarity card for everything and as I've no debts, loans , finance agreements etc it's the only thing bar my mobile phone contract that gives me a credit rating that I may need in future.

Hi, think you will find that if you withdraw cash on your cc then shortly afterwards pay in the equivalent to clear that debt you may get charged a few pence for the privilege.
The payment is used to clear the most expensive debt first which of course is the cash withdrawal.
Used to do that all the time with clarity.
Best check your t's & C's just to be sure or take out a small amount as a test.
Certainly no need to clear the balance..

I think what a lot of folks on here don't get with me.

I'm single travelling with no partner. I often don't see people for weeks on end or it's just strangers.

Therfore I tend to share more than most folks on here probably as it's a way of me venting, sounding off or just working things through.

I think sometimes folk think I'm looking for solutions etc when I'm not really

Or that I'm constantly moaning etc ...which of course sometimes I am but often I'm just making conversation.

It's different when you're a couple , if I was a couple you'd probably get a few posts a day from me at best.

I'm not skint or short of cash .....I've just tucked most of my savings in to higher interest accounts to get better interest etc and I have a limited budget I preset for my trip that I can access freely . I have plenty to do me ( I hope ) I deliberately brought more euros in cash than I ever would normally because I planned to get some work done on the van etc.

I'm not in a panic or short of money ....I'm just short of the local currency which will be sorted when I get to a currency exchange place.

Being Scottish aside ....as other nationalities and regions in England are equally thrifty ( that's thrifty not tight ) I just prefer to not waste money on fees, interest etc etc if I don't have to

I was raised to be careful with money ....something I think many younger folk these days weren't....I don't see it as a bad thing , I like the fact I've no debts etc , I've avoided depreciation etc most of my life by buying wisely .

It's a hard habit to break , I would not thank you to be very wealthy and I can say that with 100% honesty. I've never gambled or played the lottery etc as I have no desire to be rich .

I'm happy to be comfortable, I'd like to not have to worry about money for the rest of my life , but I think we all do regardless of how much we have.

I'd still be the same if I was rich so what's the point lol.

I'm careful because you never know what lies around the corner, as said before I've no private pensions etc for when I retire , no offspring to support or look after me. And I've 4 dogs that could get sick or injured at anytime ...

I'm always happy to pay what I think something is worth and not more....that's where I struggle , if I can buy something for say £60 and someone tries to charge me £100+ for the same thing I feel hard done by and I can't help thinking what I could have spent that extra 40 quid on ...its just how I am and think ...I can't change that.

Anyway I hope that explains things somewhat.

I know I think different from most people that's partly my personality. My upbringing , my adhd that lurks in the background and the fact I have way more time on my hands than most to overthink and worry about things.

I like to think that most folk that follow my threads do so because they enjoy the travel , the dogs the day to day life of someone trying to live a bit differently from the norm.

I'm sure most do .....and I do appreciate the assistance , friendship and support I get from most.

What I don't like is when a few here and there seem to follow for any drama , or hardships etc and like nowt more than to put down or judge....I know those are in the minority and some may even not be their intention but its how my mind and mood interprets it so if you are here for thst ...please just sod off

Anyway ...another warm sunny day . I'm going to continue towards tagazhoute probably won't stop as all the parkups there are guarded mostly by idiots , park4night reviews show much the same experience I had there last time .

And on to the next place after there which I think has a currency exchange place and a few possible beach parkups .

Pretty sure cash withdrawals get paid off last with Lloyds.

jongood the port is fine to buy MAD you may find somewhere that's 1 cent more or less but in banks, post offices etc I found them all the same, I usually buy at the port to save any hunting about the country for exchange kiosks etc
Last year the guy at the port kiosk gave me an extra 50 MAD (4 quid) because of Irelands support for Gaza! Lol

I get 5% on my savings

I pay 0 interest on my credit card.

And the outstanding balance on my credit card is how I keep my credit rating. If I don't use my available credit my rating drops . I used to have my credit limited to 1000gbp my credit raring was 340 summit , I increased my credit to 2250gbp and my credit rating is now at 720 😉

I've no mortgage no utilities etc to keep my credit rating.

Should I ever need credit having a good rating is important

I was taught "look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves "

Anyway I've exchanged cash now... not a great rate at 10.1 mad to the euro but I don't have to stress about petrol stations only taking card

Have you heard from Jackie at all Tam.
I saw her briefly yesterday morning she was along beach from the donkey parkup .
