You may laugh but a few years ago we advised a customer that his brake pads were crumbling, discs were worn below min thickness and both rear wheel cylinders were leaking and had contaminated the shoes. His response floored me when he asked "will they last another three months?". I always look at it from the point of view that a problem with the engine or transmission may mean it doesn't go very well while a problem with the brakes means it may not stop..............at all!

A good reminder to have a look at mine after the ride up/down wales two weeks ago, they got very hot and faded. Bit of smoke as well.

Do you think that they could be reconditioned instead of new replacements.

I think the pads look fine to me. The vented discs seem to have more cooling than normally seen.
