We arrived in France on Tuesday, had to show third vaccination record at check in at Newhaven...been to several sites and a restaurant, no docs needed all very relaxed now, crossed France Swiss border twice going around Geneva, no one stopped us
Had to show COVID pass to board Brittany Ferries last month but never asked again until back in UK where again, no pass needed. It’s easy to download on a phone if necessary so better safe than sorry.
We are on the Eurotunnel tomorrow....inshallah.
Carrying paper copies and NHS app updated..................just in case. It's simple to do (i'm told) so why wouldn't you.
Last week we were asked to upload ours onto the Tunnel website as part of the API. We did and had printed backup copies.
We travelled with friends. The four of us (DDJC) were all registered on the NHS login app, so downloaded pdfs from the website. Our friends were not and had their letters posted & delivered. Our letters were good for six months, theirs for one month, and had to be scanned in. Their scans had to be manually verified, while ours were pdf files from the NHS and were accepted without any issues.
Whizzed through the tunnel and never asked about covid vax letters during our time in France.
Brittany ferries are certainly asking for them at book-in - we got texts re our Sunday crossing yesterday - and the French travel advice says proof of 2+booster vaccination is needed to enter France.
Whether or not it's being checked seems to depend on which carrier you use.
Just had to show booking ref and passports at Dover last week. Got to port as early as possible due to potential Dover delays but only queued for 1/2 hour so originally shunted from 11.05 to 9.30 and then made the 7.50 crossing. Didn't even check the gas bottles. No Covid certs, APIs or anything else. Now doing what everyone else does in France so not even had to wear a mask yet either.
