Are there any airshows running?and if we do ,is there any that you can recomend,hubby has always wanted to go to one,but theyve probably stopped them now thru health and safety ;
cheers pampam

I would recommend booking on a THS at the Royal International Airshow, Fairford - nice to be able to park up and enjoy a few days of spotting. We went to the Gloucestershire DA one but I expect full by now. Plan for next year?

Eastbourne’s air show was good for us a couple of years ago.
The display is over the sea and with a tightening up of display rules I think that helps what can be done.

Walking in the hills behind the coast is fun too. The planes travel &/or form up there.

I've been to the Eastbourne air show quite a few times although if the weather is good it can get very crowded on the beach, we always used to book a hotel room and take the train down but on one occasion I rode down on my motorbike and parked up on beachy head, watching from there is quite nice as they sometimes fly over the top of you. The following photos were all taken from Beachy Head.

The next one was taken from the beach.

Eastbourne air show is on this year. I would advise getting there early and park somewhere around the Redoubt Fortress and then you can get a great spot on the beach.

RAF Cosford , near Wolverhampton is the only military airshow on .
As has been suggested Fairford is usually good, also Farnborough if its on.
The coastal ones such as Bournemouth, Torquay , Weston Super Mare etc, show very few aircraft but are OK if you want to see the Red Arrows and are already visiting the area, no good to make a special journey.
Only 7 Red Arrows in this years displays and not the usual 9. The only time 9 aircraft will be together is for the Jubilee flypast in London.

Can recommend the Bournemouth Air Show. Free. You can view from beaches, or cliff tops.

But the area is not motorhome friendly so best perhaps to camp on site in New Forest and get in by public transport, indeed anything other than car is encouraged. Even cycling works well. Ashurst a bit further away but right next to rail station or a couple of big sites a couple of miles from Brockenhurst. You can end up doing a lot of walking with Bournemouth rail station a mile and half from the beach.

By "show very few aircraft" you mean the static display of parked up aircraft?
You'd be right about that.
I don't remember much of anything on the ground when we were in Eastbourne (or looking for if the).
But there was plenty of flying.

Which would make Eastbourne & similar coastal shows good weather dependant.

If you fancy going to a smaller airshow where you can usually park on the airfield then consider one if the many fly ins held around the country or go and watch the Air Racing (when they start up again) run by the Royal Aero Club, calendar via link

these can be far better for getting close though don’t expect screaming fast jets 😉

if you do fancy any of them you should do your own research to ensure public have access as some are private events

RIAT is very good but camping probably sold out by now for this year.

Just a matter of opinion but I don't think that the flying display is very busy with large gaps between the different displays.
Saying that , I have never attended the Eastbourne show , but have done most of the others .
Obviously there can't be any static aircraft on display unless it's on an active airfield.

I can vouch for Shuttleworth having stayed there last weekend. If you are more interested in fast wizzing jet air shows this might not be for every one. The Edwardian aircraft couldn’t fly because it was too breezy on Saturday evening.
Staying overnight means you can have a drink with a nice buffet whilst watching the air show.
Next event for us will be Flying Proms. A proms concert with an air show together. It’s a once a year for us.
The bigger airshows we’re getting too crowded for us and in the present climate I don’t fancy anything crowded anymore.

Farnborough attracts military and commercial aircraft plus ancillary demonstrations and stands. I can imagine that drones and military hardware will be in demand given the Ukraine war. Farnborough's always been my choice - good for pretentious nerds! If your hubby is looking for military air displays, RIAT (air tattoo) is a good choice.

I have a feeling RIAT stopped motorhomes going to the show. Whichever you decide, check if you go that they allow in motorhomes.

Southport Air Show is a good option if you trust hubby 'to go flying on his own' leaving you to look around the town.

If I remember right, there is a length limit on motorhomes on the actual riat camping site.
Plenty of nearby temporary/permanent sites but most people are still booked on them from covid times so could be full.
We carried our booking over from what seems like a lifetime ago, I cant even remember which site I'm on 🤦‍♂️ Townsend farm I think 🤞
🤣🤣🤣

There's one at Teesside airport this year (Sat 11th June), quite close to you, but even closer consider going to the Large Model Association weekend at Elvington near York (Sat and Sun 7th and 8th Aug). The LMA put on a display of wonderful large model aircraft that look just like the real thing once in the air. Indeed many of these models feature in films these days when using the real thing flying is no longer possible. You can camp for the weekend at Elvington. Check their website. Elvington is a disused US air base with one of the longest runways in the country, and there is also an air museum next door.

Southport show is right next to the c&mc site and c cc May be on Victoria Park.

Duxford is fabulous. You can book onsite m/h parking.

The onsite m/h parking at Duxford for air shows used to be literally on site. But bear in mind it CAN mean you end up on the other side of the road from the airfield and have to walk across with all your gear. That has happened to me twice since the post-Shoreham era airshows, so the last time I went I studiously ignored all attempts by marshalls to direct me into said car parking areas, and drove past the site to the roundabout before coming back the other way and ending up parked on the airfield side of the road. Admittedly, the motorhome section was still further away from the 'action' than it used to be, but the up side of that was that there seemed to be fewer feral kids running about and treating my van like part of their playground, even leaning up against it with no apparent parental oversight whatsoever.
Highly recommend Duxford airshows. It's definitely worth going on one of the days immediately before an air show too, as you often see practice displays and arrivals etc.
Bear in mind that you need to make an early start if you don't want to spend quite literally hours in traffic...

Shuttleworth has nice events.
The Abingdon Air and Country Show is well worth attending with lots of interest on the ground as well as in the air.
East Kirkby has a number of events which include flying displays. Their air show is in August.
RIAT is only 8 miles down the road from me but by some unfathomable quirk I've managed to book to be somewhere else on the same weekend this year!! (Maybe I should let my drive out for the weekend - it has hookup and water!)
Headcorn's Battle of Britain airshow was excellent in 2020, when I went and camped. Sadly they put the price up from £125 for a camping weekend to £195, and moved the camping area much further away from everything. That's too big a hike for me as a single person in a van to absorb, though it's a good deal still for a family in a motorhome.

Folkestone Air Display returns in August 2022
Last year the display included the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Addressing the plans for this year's display, a spokesperson said: "Funding towards what will be another fantastic Folkestone air display forms part of the 2022/23 budget - an exciting programme of investment into the district - agreed by councillors last night."

"The air display is scheduled for Sunday, August 21 and event planning is well underway. More information about the line-up and other activities on the day will be announced in the coming months.

And do t forget Sunderland... Great airshow (speaking as an ex-Scale E and wife)

Staying at Uphill Wharf for this one - apparently aircraft use the tower above the campsite as their turning marker at about the same height.
