I've recently purchased a small 10 watt solar panel .
The box says I can connect directly to my leisure battery to enable trickle charging whilst the van is in storage ( no mains available).
But do I need a controller?
I've searched online but seem to be getting conflicting information.
Any information would be appreciated 🙂

You're supposed to be ok up to about 15w but my 5w panel on the car sends the voltage up to 15+ on consecutive sunny days. And that's with the panel in the windscreen which significantly reduces output.

Fit a little ÂŁ20 Bluetooth monitor and keep an eye on it. The thing with small panels + controller is if you're not careful the controller can use more power than the panel makes.

Thanks. I will check it out 🙂 but ,to be honest, I'm thinking of ditching the 10watt( thought it was a good idea at the time!) and buying a foldable 80watt with controller.
