Do I need a separate U.K. sticker

Can anyone confirm if I also have to display a separate U.K. sticker when in Spain if my number plates already have the union flag

Legally yes but I took mine off. Got asked by an English couple who live in Spain where we were from had people taking photos of my registration. More hassle than its worth.
 
Personally I like explaining to the enquirers that GB excluded NI whereas now NI is included.

UK is the correct literal translation for the Spanish and French nomenclature for how they refer to our country. Ie: “El Reino Unido” and “Royaume Uni” respectively.
 
Yes you need it in Spain. BTW your small version may be wrong. As far as I know it should have a blue background unless you have an electric engine in which case it should be on a green background.

The chances of being picked up on either is very low unless the Policea or Gendarme has had a really bad day.

Yes it isn't legal unless it was the old style with eu starts around it.You need the Uk elliptical black letters on white back ground sticker to comply.But as said you'd have to be finding someone bored usually.
