Can I be prosecuted in France for not having one of those unsightly GB stickers on the rear of my van?

hi
GB sticker: UK registered vehicles displaying Euro-plates (circle of 12 stars above the national identifier on blue background) no longer need a GB sticker when driving in European Union countries.

Unless your No plate displays the GB I suspect it is compulsory

In most countries the little flag on your number plate should suffice, I have heard that one country insists on the larger stickers but I can't remember who it was, probably Switzerland! But I am sure someone here will let us know.

Because the British are not very well liked by some of the European youth, especially in major cities, some campers do not bother with a GB sign as they feel this might attract trouble or vandalism. Some might even put different country badges on their Vehicle, I would have thought that "AND" would be a good choice.

You need a "proper" GB plate in Switzerland as they are not in the EU.

I was going to have a big Stars and Stripes.... But then I figured that it could be worse than having a GB sticker, so I didn't :roflmto::roflmto:

Note that this is a GB with Euro stars plate, not ENG, etc. All those are illegal everywhere but it seems it's only in the UK that the number plate laws are regularly ignored.
