Do I have to pay VAT if I import a used MH from EU (1 Viewer)

Hi Funsters,
I am looking at possibly importing a used MH from Germany, from a private sale. The van is a 2007 model, my query is ' will I have to pay vat or any other import duty ' when I bring it back into the UK.

I know from reading other threads that other Funsters have imported their own vans.
Thanking you in advance, apologies if this has been covered before. I did look, promise !

If the van was originally purchased in the EU and the vat was paid, then you should not be required to pay any vat on import.
I have recently imported a 2011 van from Germany, originally registered in France, there was no vat required when I used the HMRC on line Nova declaration of import system, link below
You may need to read the other link, and it will help if the vendor in Germany has the original C of C, or can obtain one before you buy it.
