And this chap recommends one of these Very @old-mo fella. A big battery, a super TP-Link App, but no antenna sockets, but as I have said SO many times before, I've never yet found an LTE antenna that really works as per the manufacturers claims. Remember that on most sites, the best you will probably get is 3G because sites are mainly outside built up areas whereas 4G is concentrated. Anyway it's not actually 4G it's about 3.5G. The government allowed them to cheat, naughty.

just got it out of the cupboard. as i said, its brand new and still sealed. Comes with a vodafone SIM card but not certain if locked to their network. If it is locked, its an easy task to unlock using a code from ebay (about 99p) or any market stall that does unlocking (about £5)

Don't try and confuse me with facts, LarryHappyChappy. Obviously reception is dependant on network. Now, go away and be useful, ask Win for something to do. :p

We have a mifi from 3 which always gives a good signal in fact it's far better than our rubbish talk talk Internet that we have at home at the moment.
We have it on a 30 day rolling contract and have 20gb for £20 a month.

A huawei Mifi 4G unlocked if you can but it's only a 10 minute job and £1 off eBay to unlock one

I would not buy a USB type plug dongle as you can't link a ipad to lap top when a away
With a mifi you can link up I think 6 separate devices
We use 2 iPads and laptop plus a little tablet for sat nav

3 gig mobile internet sim off eBay for about £15 lasts for 3 months or until all data is used what ever is first or
6 gig over 6 months for £20
If your not planning on going out of uk this year get a 24 gig one lasts for 12 months
For about £20
We tend to use about a gig a week when away more if weather is bad thats just for browsing the internet not watching tv

We are away in April for 3 months so I will be taking
What's left of our 12 month one
And 2 activated 6 month ones
Just in case we go over 3s time limit for overseas use

Don't activate your 6 months ones yet, you can do it abroad when/if you need them, no point in wasting the data!

We have a MiFi Haewuiii thingy from 3 the benefit is a number of things can pick up so when we are away 2 laptops 2 mobile phones and a kindle we buy a 12g sim card from 3 and generally that will last up most of the year with one or two top ups. The good thing is the sim is only activated once you bring it into use so you could buy a couple but beware once activated they have a life - the 12g is 12 months - use it or loose it.
