Hi guys really confusing me, i have bought a brand new cello 12v tv and im trying to get aerial signal to work, i have tried the portable digital aerial on my tv inside my house and it works fine, however when keeping the aerial in the same place and trying it on the cello 12v tv i get no signal.... i have also tried plugging the cello tv into the house aerial in the wall and it works fine on that? Any ideas ? Thanks for reading!

:welco:
Does your aerial have a built in amplifier?
If so you need to turn on antenna 5v power on the TV.

Thanks just tried but still no luck! I have ordered a signal amplifier so will try that when it arrives

Do you have the aerial inside or outside the MH?

If inside, likely signal blocked through faraday cage effect

Hi it was on top of van, one of those magnetic ones, i have tried in a couple of locations too

No its just a 15cm ish black magnetic pole one

If it's one of these it's not the aerial, they are excellent, especially as they're non directional.

If it's not one of these, buy one. 😏

Thats the one!
We got 47 TV and 19 radio channels in Newquay with it.
The directional antiference silver surfer got none, and the avtex amplified whip got none. Well I say none... They got the tv guide but channels were all breaking up.

We have one of those excellent when it works.
Problem is the lead is so thin if it gets a kink it stops working.
I have to sit stroking it until it responds.
I am changing it to one of these it looks to have a more robust lead.

I wondered why the reviews are so hit & miss.

Received Sniper aerial today

Very similar to the August both picked up 97 tv channels 33 radio channels and both had a similar reception when used inside the van.
The main obvious difference is the lead, the sniper is at least twice as thick and 5m. The August is 1.5m.
This means I can place the aerial on the roof via the passenger door. It was putting the August on the roof via the Heki that caused it to kink losing reception.

Last week I bought a Cello 19" Traveller TV. I had the same problem as the OP although I was using an Avtex aerial with amplifier.

I tuned the channels using the Duxette's TV aerial (rooftop type). Still no joy with the Avtex aerial. I decided it must be faulty and bought a new Avtex STH3000 from Amazon. Yay! The Cello works at last! It even gets GB News! Even though we are in a poor signal strength area and the way the houses are set out means the closest transmitter is aligned along the brick external walls. The 20 db gain from the amplifier is just about enough.

As for the old aerial I will post pix of the problem on a separate thread.
