I have been told that diesel in Belgium is cheaper than France but internet fuel prices show France is cheape.
Anyone know which is cheaper. Thank yo.

Belgium was definitely cheaper a few weeks ago.

Don’t know the current situation though.

Our recent trip found prices as follows, cheapest first

Luxembourg
Germany
Belgium
France

We did not go through Belgium but came through the other 3 over last 2 weeks and the order above is correct although we were surprised thaat the difference between Luxembourg and Germany was oly €0.02-0.03

Just come through France, now in Ypres, definitely cheaper here. Seen diesel at 1.90 in Italy.

I was slightly surpriseed how relatively expensive diesel in France appeared to be - think we were paying circa 1.44 euro / litre. Whereas, in Spain it was around 1.21 euro. However, just as we were garaging the van close to Alicante airport (5 minutes away), we spotted a scruffy diesel pump (not at a proper filling station) with a 98.9 cents sign on it? We will investigate further on our return next week.

Wonder if it's used by local taxi and car hire firms?

Of near mainland Europe the €/pL prices today are:

€ 1.52 Belgium and Italy
€ 1.48 UK
€ 1.46 Netherlands
€ 1.44 France and Portugal
€ 1.34 Eire
€ 1.30 Germany
€ 1.22 Spain
€ 1.20 Luxembourg
€ 1.13 Austria
€ 1.04 Andorra (Although the climb into the Pyrenees will burn any savings!)

Meh...................Filled up last week for £0.57 p per litre

In Tucson,Arizona.
Strangely, crossing the state border into California it would have been about £1.05 per litre. I now they have different state taxes, but there are some huge differences with fuel.

In Switzerland - won't be filing here if I can help it! Euros or CHF it's still expensive.

As a company car driver about to move to the next car I am acutely aware of the types of vehicles "aimed" at reps and businesses doing high miles..... BIG switch to non-diesel engines. Boss got a great deal on a diesel Passat last month as "nobody wants diesel" according to the broker.
Hence will that mean refineries cut down on diesel production and force the price up? Or will the reverse happen and prices come down to keep it moving?
Just a thought.

Across northern Spain we were paying €1.29, Portugal normal prices €1.40 - €1.46 but Intermarche €1.26 -€1.32.

Carrefour, Auchan, Calais 1.419 a litre today 18th
