Getting there!
We have a Dometic roof mounted a/c that can be used to heat when on EHU.
When we had a boat on the Broads, we had a diesel heater (Ebersbacher) which was great.

We are now looking at off grid heating options for our PVC, and hoping for some suggestions please?

Many thanks
Andy & Christine

I believe it's a pretty big job to retrofit any of them. You might want to speak to someone who installs them before you go too far with finding one.

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
Ralph fitted a webasto to our Pug. We had one on our old ci . It's brilliant quiet and cheap to run.

Thank you!
It was your build log that finally convinced me that I was not up to the task of converting our own van, so thank you for that!

I will have a look at webasto.

Get the same as the boat, don't you have any gas system fitted?
No, just a cylinder feeding cooker and oven (and bbq point for those 2 days per year when its safe to venture out of the van......)

Thanks for the heads up, I will explore options for a fitter.
Cheers

Been getting away since 2008
Eberspacher, uses about 0.23 litre an hour on flat out but you won't need it flat out.
I had one fitted on my two previous vans.

We have a Webasto fitted on our MH and we find it a brilliant system. Not at all noisy either, a little on start up as but nothing serious at all. I believe you can run them whilst travelling also although cab heating has always been enough for us. When we had trouble with our Truma gas heating system a couple of years ago the Webasto was invaluable, likewise when we have been running low on gas. Our Webasto has never missed a beat; a great piece of kit; comes highly recommended, well from me it does.

We have the Truma 4 deisel heater and hot water system and very happy with it!

Have to agree with Munchie. We have a Truma 6 diesel heater and it's great! Sits inside the van just as the Truma gas versions do. With the exception of the fuel type, it looks identical to the gas versions and is just as quiet.

+1 for the webasto. Ours only goes full pelt for 5 minutes or so at start up and then hums gently the rest of the time. We often run it while driving so the van is toasty when we stop.. Although if we have the dogs there's no point because as soon as you open the sliding door to let them out it is cold again

I'd re-think the gas approach. Diesel is more expensive. Diesel heaters can also be noisey and create a smell outside. However the Webasto unit is reasonably compact. As I remember, they do create a drain on the battery - not just the fan but also for ignition.
