Dieppe Sites Recommendations (1 Viewer)

We are starting our trip to Slovenia mid May and are looking for a stopover up to an hour from Dieppe for 1 night before we start to head towards Heidelberg.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Camping St Claire at Neufchatel en Bray is where we often stay. Ther is either an Aire or the Camp Site. The resturaunt serves good food and the site accepts the ACSI card.

(I guess you know about the 20% ferry discount if one of you is over 60).

15 mins (4 km) around the ring road from the ferry. Peaceful, riverside pitches, immaculate facilities and a charming and relaxed young couple who own it. I've been staying there for at least the past ten years.

If you're going to use the camp site you need to get there before they close the gate for the night.
Food stops serving at a certain time as well. - check website for both.
Aire is first come first serve but think they have a length limit.
You may be able to park outside if full/gate closed - or down the road at the supermarket.

That's odd. I've always booked online, by phone or email.
I've just done a trial booking online right up to paying without a problem.
There's an option to choose English on their website if you want it.

We've never booked anything in France, only been turned away once.

I've only ever booked that stop abroad as I wait for my son coming off the ferry with his caravan and his disabled partner who needs to rest (and their dog who needs a walk!) so it's important that he has certainty.

Hmm. Well I haven't been there since mid June last year (when I phoned to book) so perhaps they have decided to accept only online bookings since then. It may be because there's normally only the two of them and hubby Alex is always out on the site doing maintenance stuff and Emily is quite busy with checking in and out, the snack bar, the pool and their two children so maybe they prefer the less time-consuming online booking.
I'm sure you'll like it there.

I’ve stayed at Camping La Source a few times in May/early June. As long you are outside French holiday times you should have no problem. I’ve never booked.
