Has anyone bought a new PVC from either of Devon or Somerset branches.. (Highbridge.)..?

How did you find them..?

I have done a search on here and there are a few comments about them...

Not enough to put me orft buying from them... :giggler:

If you have had a really bad experience... please PM/message me...

I don`t want Jim to get sued for untrue postings...

Never bought a PVC off them but We bought a caravan off Highbridge Somerset, and out of 6 caravans and 3 motorhomes from other dealers , it was the only one that seemed to have had a proper pdi.

Our friends bought their Autosleeper from Highbridge, Somerset and have been happy both with it and their service from Highbridge. This was 2008 and they still have it and still return for any work. An initial issue was rectified to their satisfaction - a used van.

We bought our Wildax from Highbridge, Devon, happy with the process. Jodie negotiated a better deal with our part ex than we could get direct from Wildax. I think though like all dealers some people will have a good experience, others not so.

Bought our current Chausson from Highbridge. Pleased with P/X deal, good handover. One issue with van fixed quickly. Only issue we have is that the service department is very busy, so booking a service is normally 6-8 weeks later. Kept going for warranty, but am now looking at others.

We bought our MH from the Devon branch. It was an extremely satisfactory process and the company has since stood by its reputation and has dealt with any issues without quibble. The PDI was extensive and dealt with small niggles that they themselves found (e.g. oven not sparking consistently - replaced; radio not perfect - replaced with new DAB/Bluetooth unit) without us having to find them ourselves.

Our fresh water tank developed a split and leak, which resulted in a new tank being shipped in from France and fitted foc. During this work, the waste pipe from the sink to the grey tank came off at the tank end, meaning they had to strip out the garage to remake the joint. All of this took time, but it was lockdown anyway and Highbridge could not be faulted for their care and attention to us and our MH.

The service department is very busy, and they do get booked up, but they also broke into the schedule to do our repairs, which meant a lot and showed they were standing by their customer and their product.

I wrote a review here then and I remain highly satisfied with the service from this company. From our experience, we can recommend them without reservation.

Bought our current van from them at Highbridge and it was a good experience. Happy with the deal and very good, no quibble, after sales service.

they have a pretty good reputation Mo, far better than most of the competition

Morning Mo,

During our week at Topsham, one Funster told me that, following a purchase of a van' at Highbridge, Devon, they only found out that the yearly habitation check could be made at Highbridge, Somerset.???

Could this be because Apple Campers at Wellington do the Habitation checks (at half price) for them.) I know Apple do work for them.

I did, and posted a review regarding my experience of the Somerset main branch. Room for improvement.

My main conclusion about Highbridge is that they are too successful, too busy, and have outgrown their already big site.

In January this year, I booked a water ingress check and for an external BBQ point to be fitted at the end of April with Highbridge Somerset.
We had to leave the van with them for a week for this work to be done to comply with their COVID rules and regs. No problem but a pain as we live in Pembrokeshire. Very poor communication with after sales team.
When we went to collect the van at the end of the week, customer services informed me that they could not fit the external BBQ because they did not have the part. No apology and very dismissive. Why had they not ordered the parts? Who knows and they did not care.
The water ingress paperwork had one line on it stating everything in order. No indication of what checks carried out. Staff member rung me a week later for details from my Hymer plate so ingress check could be recorded with Hymer.
Terrible service especially when they have so many staff working for them.

On another note, went to Van Bitz the week after for a load of work to be done. Excellent service. Work all done in a day. Could not be more helpful.

That’s my experience, admittedly 3/4 years ago. Individuals very very good, and promises kept, but let down by them trying to cope with the volu of business they do

I bought a Rapido Dreamer PVC from Highbridge, and have written a review for the reviews section. I would never buy from Highbridge again.

They were on TV last night saying that they have very low stocks due to high sales (Somerset branch). Don't suppose it helps you much, but if you're buying new, it'll be the same anywhere unless you find one. It's not a huge site but it did look sparsely populated.

We bought a new Bailey caravan from them in January 2019. All went well with purchase and PX of our moho. There was a particular fault that they simply would not/ could not comprehend. There was no drain hole at the bag of the fridge for defrost water and when pointed out to them they insisted the fridge didnt need one. So i asked ther service manager where he thought the water goes then? No answer from him... truth was... all over my bloody floor! Eventually after much hassling I got them to realise and so in van goes for rectification. When it is returned with hole in right place it still leaked water into fridge cos fitter had simply run a drill through drainage fully smashing all the back of it and therefore not getting a seal onto a drain hose. Shocking service (not just this fault to be rectified), poor attitude, had the van for 8 weeks in total. Too busy...never again

So what have you decided on Mo.

Please really look into these Mo.
I'm sure the fridge doesn't run on gas and the build quality was dreadful.

I'm sure I spoke to someone who had just bought the cv 40 and said it didn't run on gas.

Some years ago the clutch was slipping on my Bessacar , three days before a trip to France .
I had one day of a twelve month guarantee left . I called Highbridge they said bring it in we will replace the clutch . But I’m on a ferry in a few days time ! OK have you somewhere local yes take it there get them to ring us . Highbrideg gave my garage a order number . When I went to collect my van my garage were astounded by Highbridge . The work was done Highbridge paid the bill over the phone no problem .
I have bought two vans from them and always found them fair to deal with .
