May be of intrest to some
The two ships are being changed for ones with more vehicle capasity from next year
Not new ships though
We use this route fairly often as it suits us (as long as you remember its a car ferry and not a cruse ship)
Im sure it will not be any cheeper:rolleyes:

Might give it a go again, Mrs Funflair found it bobbed about a bit too much for her liking so if the new ones are better stabilised it might be an alternative to Hull as it is closer for us (y)

My Understanding is that these are the two replacements?. Currently Trading in the Mediterranean. They have been long term chartered to replace the current vessels.

The deal was pulled yesterday, the owners could not meet the delivery dates. They are pretty old ships though.

Not unusual in my experience. I am guessing here. But my gut feeling is that the survey (pre charter) they would have had carried out prior to signing contract, showed too many "problems" to make it viable for DFDS. Their surveyors would have crawled all over them and the Paperwork would (should) have come under scrutiny, if the "class" (Lloyds, Veritas etc) documentation was not up to date. I would have knocked it back.
