We were just re-checking ferry prices when we came across this: rather messed up our projected holiday to Norway this year - and yes, we could drive through Denmark etc ....
Years ago I used to do a regular run to Vargarda in Sweden. I used the DFDS boat out of Harwich to Gottenburg which was a freight only boat mainly used to carry unaccompanied trailers. There were cabins for 6 passengers/drivers and we ate with the crew. Many times I was the only passenger on board. As far as am aware there no longer are any ferries directly from the UK to Scandinavia.
I know there are no longer any ferries - thats why were were looking at the freight ferries - there is one from Immingham to Brevik - but looks like that is now out too.
