It was too much like deja vous reading this sad headline today, as I was only reading their story out to TinaL a few days back. I immediately thought I had read their story on a news link from the BBC, but it must have been posted here on MH Fun.
I hope they find her soon, but it does seem too risky to have done this mountain trek on her own, especially at this time of year.
She was experienced enough to have made a plan B, in the event of injury I would have thought, or was she relying solely on her mobile phone signal to raise the alarm.
Very sad story indeed.

We only just E mailed each other on Tuesday!
Just sent him a message of support .
Still hoping it will end well but just looked at the mountains she was in ! Bloody rugged and dangerous !
She was returning to the Dan in the van on Wednesday and they were going to head home and probably get married, after putting it off for 6 years.
Bloody awful for him.
Fingers crossed.
Mitch.

Hoping that she is found safe. She seems experienced enough to have taken all the right gear.

I remember a thread a couple of years ago by Haganap.
Paul explained a runner had gone missing on a mountain path and search teams couldn't find him.
He was eventually found, dead I think, days later in a gully right next to the track.... So near but so far.
Hope it's a better outcome for this lady.

Just saw an article in Thursdays Eastern Daily Press about Esther and Dan and their dogs. ( She came from Hilgay near Downham Market.
Isn’t timing an extraordinary thing !
Mitch.

I heard this on news this morning, i hope she is found safe,do you know if campervan is missing too, or the lady herself, perhaps they-will find her by her phone fingers crossed for a safe return 🤞

It is my wife that did the illustrations for their books that is from Hilgay not Esther.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her partner.
Also to the emergency services from France and Spain searching for her.

I cannot find anything to say if it is she or her and the van that is missing ?

This older Van Life thread seems to get updated with current news

In which case somebody should e-mail/text her in case she does not know she is 'missing', but surely Dan has done that.

I am hoping she hasn’t got any signal

Think there was a snippet on BBC Breakfast this morning. Just caught the end of it as making tea.

If she is an experienced walker, I assumed she will be geared up for most emergencies, not just a mobile phone.
Fingers crossed she's OK.

Very frustrating.

I still don't know whether they have even found her van.

Poor nights sleep last night. I see pretty well all the news people are covering it so hope we will hear something as soon as there is a break through.
