On my V5 my vehicle is shown as

Body type. Motor Caravan

Taxation class. Private HGV


Is this the norm? Is there such a thing as Taxation class - Motorhome?

Does it make any difference to Tax paid?

Sorry if this appears to be a basic question but, after almost 30 years with caravans and motorhomes I had never thought about it before.

Sounds OK to me if you are over 3500kg.

There is no dedicated motorhome class so its either plg or phg.

Private heavy goods rate is currently £165 across the board....plg is around £220.

Phg is over 3500kg....plg is up to 3500kg

Yes, we are over 3500kg, so all appears OK.

I knew someone would know but the speed of response still astounds me.

Now, only BT would answer their "Customer Service" line that fast.
