yes, that is most definitely at whitstable, back in the summer was chatting to the old guy who lives in it, sadly it's going to rack and ruin, not by his choice it has to be said..

he's a lovely old chap too, well into his 80's now.. :)

Thanks @dryad , I thought it was familiar, I do remember the story now which made headlines some years ago when we were living in Kent.

the house is in a fantastic position behind the sea wall with views out over the Swale to Sheppey.
 
I remember this too, caused quite a lot of bad feeling towards the Whitstable Oyster and Fisheries company who were accused of bullying tactics to get their own way.
They have had a few battles with the council over the beach too.
Shame the house is just falling to pieces now, where before it was well maintained.
