how do you delete a message you have posted by mistake in a thread?

I don't think you can delete it completely but during the time allowed for Edit you can change the text to something like Post Deleted.

Yes, it doesn't seem possible. I suspect the forum software could allow it but the facility does not seem to have been enabled. I have posts duplicated from time to time and it would be nice to be able to clean it up but I just have to edit the duplicated post to read "duplicated post" or words to that effect.

Hi. You have a limited time after posting the message to delete some of it or change the text. Go to messages and select edit if the option is still available.

I suspect Jim gets a lot of early morning requests to delete something said in haste (& drink) the night before.
