While travelling in this seemingly endless wet weather there’s been more than a few occasions when I could have done with a set of decent tyre slip mats to get me moving.
I’ve tried various types, the latest are the Milenco ones. But none seem to make any real difference, they sink into the mud, or the wet tyres just spin on them.
A/T tyres aren’t a real option on my new A class, I’ve even considered snow chains but would prefer any easy to use, non sinking knobbly gripped set of mats… Any ideas please ?

Having got stuck in a soft spot on the way into the Thetford Bash a couple of years ago, I found the thin grip tracks are as about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Thankfully many hands and some Funsters bread trays got us out of the mire, but I wrecked their bread trays for them.
Not to go through that experience again, I have bought a couple of pair of sand ladders that have the top surface impregnated with grit for extra grip.

They are the same as these ones I linked to earlier in the thread and the ones in my link are cheaper
The seller has various lengths thicknesses and colours to choose from.

Edit : Ooops, just seen that they are the same eBay seller.

Another vote on bread crates, used for years. If I'm in any doubt when I pull up at a rally field then I always put them down under the front drive wheels prior to setting up 👍

Whatever you use it's so much easier if you have hydraulic jacks ;) wheels in the air, slip something under and drive away(y)

I use these, a bit more expensive but they do work, I always park on them when on grass/soft ground...

If parking on grass unless it is rock hard I always put the bread crates under the wheels which means nearly every time we park on grass in the UK.

A lot of people make the mistake of only putting the crates under the driven wheels, I always put them under all four wheels particularly important if front wheel drive.
The rear end is normally a few hundred kilos heavier and if the ground is the slightest bit soft the wheels will sink into hollows making it really difficult to pull away even with crates under the front wheels.
