I have bought the next model up more of a hybrid type so off road / road bike if that makes sense. £999 i paid . Not used much yet due to the weather but seems well put together

We bought a Decathlon ebike a few years ago and it was okay for the money bearing in mind that its low spec with it being a rear hub motor. Eventually the hub motor on the one we bought seized up due to rust, it’s now in the garage with all the electronics removed, I still have the battery somewhere though.

A while back (pre e-bike days) We had two really nice Giant bikes but mine was stolen in Stassbourg. I couldn't walk back to camp so popped into a nearby Decathlon and bought a cheapy to see us through the holiday. I could not tell that this was not as good as the Giant costing twice as much and kept that bike for another 10 years or so.

They look pretty good to me, best to go and have a look at it in the flesh though, you need the right frame etc. I ended up buying from e bikes direct as they are based just a few miles from us and they allowed us to try out about 8 ebikes, they share some of the same models as Decathlon but were cheaper!

Thanks, good idea 👍

I bought a decathlon ebike s/h off a funster hilldweller.
Not the same as one featured as this was a few years ago.
He paid 600 euro in France.
It's still going strong and suits me to have a cheapie as it has to hang on the rear bike rack and I couldn't sleep well with 1.5k worth of ebike vulnerable to thieves

One thing to think about is the weight (if you're motorhoming with it) as they are very heavy and to get something lighter you have to pay a lot more. Our last e-bikes were great quality (Juicy Bikes) but really heavy. I Fitted an electric lift rack to the back of the van.

When we changed the van we decided to go lighter and got carbon fibre folding e-bikes and carry them in the garage.

I don't know about e-bikes specifically, but Decathlon bikes have a good reputation and are great value for money.
Same feedback really.
My road bike & gravel bike are Decathlon brand B-Twin
Good spec kit at a good price.
My road bike (Alur 700) especially is decent value for the fitted parts. For example, it has the same Shimano 105 brakes, shifters & drive train stuff, etc. as my mates 50% dearer Giant.

The gravel bike is the GRVL120. Its mechanical disk brakes are a bit low spec. but still an upgrade to rim brakes. I might upgrade those but the rest of the bike works well.

Sorry, quite a lot of detail not really e-bikey!!
TL;DR Decathlon good but check reviews.
For example I did find out ahead of time about the GRVL120’s simple mechanical brakes but as expected they do the job. Esp. when wet - unlike rim brakes. 🤪

The replacement battery for my YT Decoy is ,£900....so for one penny less you get a whole bike....worth a punt in my honest opinion...👍🇪🇦🥳🥳

It all depends on what you’re going to use it for. If you just want to pootle along the seafront for a couple of miles I would say it would be fine. If you want to go off road mountain biking I would say, it won’t last very long. (y)

Mrs C has had a B twin decathlon electric bike for over 10 years Just had the battery re done the battery pack after about 6000 miles as a precautionary measure, apart from a few scratches and it being a little bit heavy compared to a £5000 bike it's been great. If you are an average cycling person then they are fine, serious club or prospective Tour de France then spend more. It was £250 to get the battery done, if I was handy with a soldering iron it would have been a good bit cheaper
