3 years ago, Win and I were staying in our RV on the C&CClub site at the rear of the Goathland Arms ( Aidensfield Arms ). We were the only campers on the site with the exception of a number of soldiers in a very large tent at the other end of the site. In the evening we walked the 300 yards from the site to the pub for a drop of refreshment, the pub soon filled with soldiers from the camp who had recently returned from Afghanistan and were on excercises on the moors.
They consumed a fair amount of alcohol but their behaviour was impeccable and they were very friendly, perhaps an example to our recent rioting louts.
We were given a lift back to the site in their truck and in the morning one of the soldiers brought me two bottles of ale specially brewed for them, The Queens Royal Lancers. The ale is called Death Or Glory and is 7.2% alc.
I consumed one bottle a while back and have just started the other, absolutely bootiful :thumb:
