Hi I'm just looking for a bit of advice on how to deal with the dealer. We have a used motorhome that we are potentially interested in purchasing if the price is right. I've read the guide on here on 'haggling' but I'm struggling to find out how to determine what a reasonable price may be, in particular I can't find any info on sold prices or many comparable models currently on sale. In general terms how much inflation do you think dealers put on the price and how far do they tend to be prepared to drop price?

Many thanks

have you read Jim articles on the subject? and have a read of the Fun magazine has some great strips on dealer conversations.

have you looked on autotrader?

This should give you an idea on prices, if your exact model is not available then the nearest size/year will help.

As others have said, Jim has a guide available and he’s written an article in one of the MHF magazines.

As you've realised, asking prices aren't much of a guide so you could try using the 'Advanced Search' facility on eBay for 'Completed listings', i.e. the price at which your preferred/selected type/model/year of motorhomes did actually sell.
