A big thank you for all that responded to my post Sunday morning Dead Kontiki
Rac duly arrived and a very nice man called Andy located the problem to a faulty wire to ignition switch. he made a good temporary repair and I was on my way. So minxy girl it is no longer a dead kontiki and was never leaky. Really looking forward to forum in future.

Good to hear you've found the problem as electrical ones can be a nightmare to find ... as it's now up and running and raring to go ... we shall henceforth refer to it as ... King-Kong-tiki!!!

I was watching a program about an almost dead Kontiki ,as it was taking on water and slowly sinking. They were finding it difficult to control as well. Is yours named after that one??????
