Truma recommend using white vinegar to get rid of boiler scale, which to judge from my electric kettle there must be quite a lot of

They don't give any instructions on how to use it though.

Does anyone know, should it be used neat or diluted a bit or a lot? I think the boiler holds 10L so a fair cost in vinegar if used neat.

I would expect some gassing as well so presumably leave taps open with pump off.

Use diluted to about 10% . so that's one litre .. or a bit less..

After filling, heat the boiler up then switch off, and as you say, leave the hot taps open with the pump off.

Leave for a few hours or even overnight, then flush with fresh water ..

Many thanks. I will bung about 18L of water and 2L of vinegar in the cold tank, which will give enough to flush out the whole system with any luck.
