Data roaming charges will at last be abolished

    But not until 15th June 2017 see BBC News, good news is roaming charges will have lower caps from next April.

    If it happens. This was all meant to have happened by this year but the telcos had it postponed. No doubt one day but don't hold your breath :)

    • €0.05 (3.5p) extra per minute for calls
    • €0.02 extra per SMS sent
    • €0.05 extra per megabyte of data used
    The cap would make roaming within the EU 75% cheaper during the interim period, the European Commission has said."

    I don't want to pee on the fireworks, but that still works out at around £38 per GB of data - that can still mount up pretty quickly

    And when the roaming charges are abolished you can bet that the base prices will all go up to cover the loss of revenue. !
