Depends where you want to go and what you need the data for. If staying in the UK and you want to stream TV then look for an unlimited data deal.

If going into mainland Europe it gets trickier as a lot of the good deals available in the past have gone. I have 200Gb on my EE card which I can use in Europe in my router but this deal is no longer available. In my phone I have a Vodafone sim card which gives me 60Gb in Europe. It has been consistently much faster, by a significant margin than the EE sim here in Spain.

But the deals change all the time so you just have to search for what is best for your needs.

Edit: Have a look at this: https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/is-this-as-good-as-it-seems-eu-roaming-included.280016/

If in the UK, I have no idea about roaming.

I have an affordable monthly payment SIM, from Three, that gives me excellent coverage, speed and quota.

If you are a smaller data allowance, and only an occasional user, again with Three, they sell a SIM package called Internet With Legs. Basically you but a Data only SIM that comes with 'X' amount of data, more data bigger price. It is a one off purchase, no contract, no subscription, no top up.

So say you but a 20Gb Sim.
You fit it into your device.
The first time you use it the clock starts ticking.
The SIM works until you either;
Use up all the data,
OR
One year elapses.

That simple.

So you can buy a spare SIM, keep it taped to the back of the router and swap when you need to, without losing anything.

There is, of course, a App that allows you to monitor time and useage.

This also popped up on Google but I have no experience;

How to get free data on Three?

Follow the 3 simple steps to get your free 200MB data every month forever.

1 Order a Data Reward SIM pre-loaded with 1GB data for £10.
2 Wait for your SIM to arrive in the post. It normally takes between 1 and 3 working days.
3 Register your SIM at three.co.uk/freedata and enjoy 200MB free every month forever.

But that's mb not GB which is the level we were expecting/talking about?

I’ve just ordered a Lebara sim (Vodafone) for £1.99 a month. You 20Gb a month. Offer lasts for 3 months then they stick you on their normal tariff £8.99 a month. I’m using it as a trial to see if it suits my needs & check out speeds & coverage before I buy the data bundle I require. Search on ‘hotukdeals’ for the sim deal you require.
Cancel anytime.

I have an EE data sim up at my static, 200 gb per month for £20, just got a smarty sim just 5gb per month for a £5 it’s a trial and if any better will go for the unlimited smarty at £20, I can stop either whenever I want as they are not fixed deals.

Cancelled my EE data sim for the Netgear I have in the van as it got to expensive for how much we use it and went for a Smarty data sim.
Set it up at home in the Netgear and reception was not good went to Wells Somerset on a trip away and the reception was not much better☹️
Have now cancelled the plan and will look at something else, when I had the EE sim I never had any trouble pulling a signal in the UK and all over Europe.

Like Coastal Cruiser. , we use an EE SIM. We are fairly light users and EE have the best coverage in the UK. Coverage for us is more important than price.
