I normally buy the Three 24gb data bundle (for mifi) when it's on offer, which I don't need when I'm at home. But now we're touring soon, and of course it's not on offer. Has anyone seen any good deals right now? (Don't want a contract due to my intermittent usage).

Try this what Minxy Girl posted. Its for 60 gb but if you go for 24 months it goes to 100gb.
Thanks, but it doesn't really work for me, 12x20 – £144 is still more than twice the cost of a single 3 24gb sim, which I find often lasts me the 2 yrs it's valid. I'm abroad at least 3 times a year for almost 4 months (non Covid of course), plus UK trips, but they are spread over the year, with the rest of the time at home. If I were to drop the home wi-fi. it might work. That's why I don't want a contract, just stand alone data. Plus, they're a B to leave, I swore I'd never have a contract again, after an issue with EE.

If you read the whole thread with cash back it works out £8 a month for a 100gb over 12 months. Hard to beat in would of thought.

I usually buy a Vodafone PAYG data sim £25 for 15GB lasts 90 days. Our last trip was only 30 days bought a EE sim on eBay with 30GB that lasted 30 days from the day they despatch. Also if in Portugal I buy the NOS unlimited data sims.
I don't bother with 3 as they throttle the speed when roaming.

Just bought 3 24GB for £43 off flea bay lasts 24 Months

Internet with legs from 3 24G 24 mths
Red Communications £46.99
My Memory £47.99

Vodafone are doing 5X data deals. So you buy 20gb, text FIVETIMESDATA (or something) and they up to it 100GB. I think it was thirty quid. They are also doing other amounts, that's just the biggest one.

Is the for europe as well and any restrictions?

Not managed to find anything that will let you roam for more than about 20Gb and any length of time due to fair use restrictions despite trawling through loads of sites.

Have a look at Vodafone's offerings (excluding the unlimited data one).

I have just ordered a superdrug mobile sim tonite. £20 on a 30 day rolling contract, ulimited, data, calls and text. and confirmed can use it all on roaming in the EU,with no reduction in speed or data amount. it uses the 3 network . i want it for my mifi to use the firestick in the van when away for winter, will give it a go and see what happens.
Cheers Cris.

Europe for sure, and I don’t think there are any restrictions. I didn’t check download speeds (these vary with the unlimited pacakages, but don’t seem to mentioned at all with the finite data packages. I’ll try and remember to check tomorrow)

I've also just ordered one - been through the T&C's and it doesn't mention any specific limit although they can tut you if you take the proverbial - thanks for pointer.

Looks too good to be true, I wonder what the speed is going to be like. I stopped using 3 for roaming found it too slow for browsing let alone streaming.

I have a 12gb 3 sim (lasts 12 month) in my mifi as a back up (vodafone 100gb sim in my fone)and tried it a few times last year without issue,so thought i would give the superdrug one a go but only because it"s a 30 day rolling contract and can be easily cancelled. Only time will tell?? ,hopefully it will get a battering on the firestick here over the next couple of months. However Spain may be a different story!!! Will post the results after i try it,as everyone else has restrictions when roaming, will be great if it works as stated, the sceptic in me says dont hold your breath.😂😂.

As it's a 30 day contract I might give it a try one concern is it is a phone SIM and I would be using it in my Mifi also looking to get rid of the landline. Vodafone say if using there phone sim in a Mifi they will throttle the speed after 30 days if they do or not is an unknown, do 3 operate the same way?
Would love to have unlimited when away as we can easily use 20 - 25 GB data a week if available.

The one restriction you DO need to check is on the length of usage allowed abroad as Three normally have a 2 month continuous use abroad limit after which you have to use it for the next 2 months back in the UK before using it abroad again. Obviously with a 30 day rolling contract you can just get another one if you go away again but if you want to use it for longer abroad than 2 months continuously you may fall foul if the limit still applies.

Agreed - and this is typical of the vague restrictions of most of the T&Cs I've been trying to get through. I can't find anything specific in the Superdrug T&Cs except the usual get out clauses of we can change the terms whenever we feel like it.

Third party 'branded' sellers such as Superdrug often have something in their terms that says that the restrictions by the original supplier apply, or something to that effect, so as 3 restrict it normally I would expect it to have the same clause.

Been using a Vodafone 50gb £21.50 a month in France since Nov no problems, use it for internet and my fire stick with a Huawei MiFi. Always good reception both in the house and motorhome.

yup - so just going to roll with it and see what happens. I'm activating a few SIMS before the next EU trip in a few weeks to hopefully get me through a 4 month trip.

If you activate a 30 day rolling contract one it will start now AFAIK so if the Three terms are applied you won't be able to use them after 2 months ...
