Morning all, any recommendations for the above please. Seen a post from 2014 so wondering if anything more current. I bought the Garmin friction mount which was useless and threw it away. It’s a 2019 Ducato A class dash.
Thanks Jim

Which type of mount did you have?

Mine is the beanbag type which sometimes moves a bit when the road is bumpy but otherwise works well.

I had a smoked toughened glass shelf cut to fit in the dash top document holder and use a suction mount. The glass is a very snug fit so no danger of it flying loose in case of an accident etc. The glass is obviously the perfect surface for suction mounts (2017 A class (excuse steamy windscreen it’s a tad cold this morning) ?

There are mounts that fit the air vents that seem to work

I use the self adhesive discs, but found that removing the sticky & using 'soft plastics' glue to stick it to the dash has worked for the last 4 years (the sucker mounts on the disc)

May have a spare ball and socket type at home.

We stuck the adhesive disk to half a clamshell CD case - the straight base of the clamshell fixes well under the clip on the dashboard, and the whole thing is easy to remove.

I’ve got one of these and find it’s certainly better than the bean bag type : Broken Link Removed Broken Link Removed

Our new 2019 Fiat no longer has that handy clam shell clip, we’d stuck our garmin to a glass piece that had come with the TV in our previous Fiat van and was held in place beautifully by the clam shell clip. In the new van we’ve had to resort to sticking it to the windscreen which I dont really like as its in the low right hand corner. Fine when I’m driving plus navigating but if Nick’s driving I can’t see it easily when he’s going the wrong way!

You need a space before the smiley, it distorts the address

Do you know if it works with the garmin camper as it’s not on the list and I’ve gone through all the reviews. One mentions a 7 inch lorry one so should do. I am tempted as I do prefer it in the centre? Thanks.

Yes that’s what we have?

I have the bean bag holder then put a cushion behind it against the window to stop it slipping .Cheap solution

Halfords and Curry’s have theme cheaper

I was thinking of one but looked at YouTube review and it looked like it was that stable.

I use that one and tuck the thin end under my clipboard on the dash and holds it fine.

Have you tried Brodit?

I use Link Removed, work well if you have a suction type mount.

Yes I also have the Garmin friction mount and just tuck the end under the center clip board holder which works well. Bought it from Halfords for a tenner.

Use an anti-slip mat under your Garmin bean bag. It’s almost as good as screwing it down! They only cost a couple of pounds and peel off without leaving a mark.
