Dash cam in Portugal (1 Viewer)

I have been told the dash cams are illegal in Portugal whats the penalty for being caught with one hidden away in my motor home.

Don't think that is the case, I believe it is illegal to have live play back whilst driving but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will be along shortly to confirm.

Not sure about the legality but mine has been in use in open view for the last 2 winters in Portugal with no problems.

I cannot believe that any member of the Portuguese GNR or Police would be in the slightest bit interested in a dash cam.

I am so convinced that this is the case that, if any Funster gets fined for having a dash cam in Portugal, I volunteer to pay the fine.

I had ours in clear view (suctioned to rear view mirror) in Austria. I was stopped by the Austrian Police for a Spot check. They looked at my Camera and for the Vignette and just waved me on.
