I'm planning a trip to a dark skies area. I've got to self isolation for 14 days when I come back to the UK, which I will do at a house I've got in Chester, but after that I was thinking of a Dark Skies adventure. Wales or Scotland?? Any suggestions? We are well able to be off grid, but would also not rule out a CLor farm based halt.
TIA

Lots of opportunities in Dumfries and Galloway and a couple of small campsites around Port William which is handy for the Galloway Astronomy Centre (small B&B with a decent telescope) and there is the Galloway Dark Skies Observatory visitor centre too.

There are a couple of stopovers in the Keilder Forest listed on Search for sites and some of the "Stay the Night" listings will have no ambient light...
