Been there loads of times love the island and have driven over most of the Greek side and some of the Turkish side but it is not set up for motorhoming and I could count on one hand the number I have seen on the island. Besides that getting there with your vehicle is neither easy or cheap apart from that it is great....

Everything @buttons said. Only ferries are into Northern Cyprus and are expensive.
I lived there for nearly two years and don't recall seeing any campsites anywhere in the South. I did a few trips over the border. It's prettier and the roads were a bit quieter in those days. Both sides are getting more and more built up with concrete houses.
It's probably a nice place for a holiday, hotels a plenty, beaches, bars, restaurants etc.. but not a motorhoming ( or animal !) friendly place.

Parking anywhere is never a problem and their attitude to rules can be lax and fair. I don't see any reason why a motorhome would be a problem. You will need snow chains if you attempt the mountains during the low season. I have seen snow as deep as a motorhome when the sun is still shining on the coast. The people are also friendly.

Yeah not easy is it. A friend of mine brought his car back as deck cargo on a freighter.
How about parking you home up and getting a flight to see her I'm sure you would love the change. Easy jet now fly's into both Larnaca and Paphos with favorable ticket prices...

Think ferries run from Southampton,,,about a 12 day trip and expensive,,,BUSBY,,

Pegasus Airlines fly Stanstead/Istanbul/Lefkoşa (Nicosia) Airport. Kuzey Kıbrıs (Northern Cyprus) is by far the most scenic part of the island and far less commercialised then the Greek side IMO.

Hi ukbill

We are in Cyprus at the moment and all those posting not suitable for motorhome are quite right.
There are approx three campsites but the two on the coast are little more than shanty places with mostly permanently placed caravans and some mobiles.It's a while since we have been up on Troodos where,I think, the third campsite is which is basic at best. To be honest I don't even know whether it is still open.

We had been there a few times by car but went in the camper in 1998. It was comparitively easy then as there was a ferry from Piraeus to Limassol. I think we found about 5 or 6 campsites none of which were really well equipped. We also found loads of restaurants with a beach frontage who were more than happy to let us stay, empty waste and top up with water and where we ate anyway. There was one other camper (Dutch) on the island at the time and we also met up with a Brit RAF guy who had his caravan there. Having had a flat there for some time we knew the island pretty well but doing it in the camper was great. Some of the country roads were "interesting" to say the least but we never got stuck. Very much a curiosity and attracted a lot of attention wherever we went. Sadly the cost of getting there now on one of the freighters is prohibitive.

One of the island shipping line has just bought a ro-ro ferry which many hope will operate between limassol and greece.
It wont be cheap if it happens.
There are a few not very good campsites but would be absolutely no problem at all wilding provided you are prepared to use unsealed roads and not take the proverbial by staying too long.
