Last year I posted that there were in my grumpy opinion, too many one eyed cars driving about at night. This year on one trip from Norwich to my Bedfordshire home, I encountered 14 cars with only one light showing to the front. They could have been motorbikes in my overtaking mind but were not.
I am warming up to be grumpy... what is more as their single light was not good enough, many used their other light on full beam

Why are daytime running lights fronts only? Volvo have had it right for years.

Too few coppers about to sort out unsafe cars and drivers!

Totally agree and in guilty of it too because the DRL are so bright. Even seen coppers doing exactly the same thing.

It is a balance between safety & additional emissions due to extra fuel usage I believe. Any way not many drivers/pedestrians are looking for cars going backwards.

No but cars behind like to see cars in front in gloomy conditions so that they stop in time if required!

Have recently got a car with daylight running lights, was not initially aware there were no tail lights. Now run on sidelights in dull conditions. Cant get over the number of cars in fog with no lights on at all. Once counted 17 bikes with no lights on the way to work. Having said that both son and stepson been knocked off theirs when lit up like Christmas trees.

One of the problems is that when lights are on “auto” they don’t come on early enough in fog/light rain.
So,you still need a brain to drive a car!,,,,..............driverless cars..no thank you!
