hi all,newbie here
just after taking the plunge and bought an dethleff globetrotter esprit.
one of the kids caught the curtain that covers the overcab bed from the rest of the campervan and par of the rail has come away from the ceiling.
when looking at it you can see that it has happened before and previous owners have added extra screws to hold it in place
when putting the screws back in most of them are not gripping the wood.

so
1) is there some adhesive that I can put on the screws, and on the back of the rail to make it more resilient.
2 should I move the rail slightly to screw into fresh part of the ceiling .

I have found Gorilla Glue to be a life saver in similar situations,(and in many others too)
Read the instructions and wet one component of the join first......

That's the thing. I am unsure how thick the roof in a camper actually is.
The screws seem to be 3x12millimetre.

Not sure if it's of any help but I use this tape for loads of stuff

Broken Link Removed

It's available in different lengths and widths.

The last thing I used it for was to attach a curtain rail to the ceiling to separate the living area from the fixed rear bed.

It's holding power is remarkable, but with care it can be removed and leaves no trace.

In the van I've used it to stick stuff to the ceiling and shower wall - both some sort of plastic/vinyl type with a grain, and to one of the wood laminate cupboards.

At home I've used it to stick a strip of velcro around a corner basin in the downstairs loo to attach a curtain around to hide the ugly pipework. Initially I just used the adhesive backed velcro but the weight of the curtain kept pulling it off. Used the VHB tape and it hasn't budged at all.

Brilliant stuff for all sorts of uses.

Thanks lads for the helpful replies
I think that the rawlplug one may not work due to ceiling thickness.
But the others seem to be worth a try.
Thanks again
